Building Ministries

Ephesians 4:11-12 reminds us that God gave various gifts to individuals.
“…. to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” ESV

We at St. John’s, fully embrace this word as we commit to providing activities that will enhance the function, spiritual education, and growth of the church. Our ministries are designed to include all age groups and to meet a variety of needs within the church and throughout the community.

Using our gifts to help others deepens the sanctifying knowledge of Jesus Christ, helps our faith become concrete, unifies our goals of kingdom building, and reflects Jesus’ love and compassion. Opportunities and activities are provided to fellowship within and outside the walls of the church encouraging friends, relatives, and nonmembers to participate.

Tribute to Quinton Miles, Sr.

We first would like to thank God for our website but we also would like to thank Quinton Miles, Sr. for the vision of pursuing this project.

Quinton was a faithful Deacon and member of our Tech Team Ministry at St. John’s and an amazing friend to us all. His gifts in the area of technology were very instrumental in our development of an online platform through the pandemic. His knowledge was instrumental in us establishing a platform on Zoom, creating a YouTube channel, and helping us further build our presence on Facebook for St. John’s Church.

Quinton will always have a place in our hearts and we just want to thank him for everything he was able to contribute not only to St. John’s but also to the Church Tech Team Ministry.

Tribute to Susan Mason

Susan Mason initiated our first efforts at a website or webpage she joined our church family in 2013 with much love and passion for the things of God.

While she did much work with our youth in nutrition and music, she was very intent on her love for the church and that we needed to expand our territory into the technical field. She made plans and met with a few persons from our present technical team to begin the process.

The Lord had other plans and called her into His presence in January 2016. Susan had only been with us three years but it seemed that she had been of the church for decades. We truly cherish her memory and efforts.

James 4:14 – “Whereas ye know not what will be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time then vanishes away.“
